In June 2024, I began interviews with my client about 90 years spent in the same small town of Prineville, Oregon. We did six interviews over two months, and in between I wrote the transcripts and translated them into the first draft of our novella. August 2024 was spent with me writing drafts and my client providing notes for revisions. I designed the cover with a picture I took of his beloved Ochoco Forest and formatted the book's interior in Indesign. In September 2024 I printed the first version of the 72-page novella titled Ochoco Ern, one of my client’s nicknames. After we completed final revisions, I printed the final version, and my client had a keepsake novella he is happy to be able to share with his friends and family.
