The Little Red Box

In January 2023, my client requested a children’s book about her family’s Christmas tradition of exchanging her great-grandmother’s red stationary box with a new poem and a gift for different family members. My client provided a compendium of all the poems exchanged over 50 years and the original story of how the tradition was born. Then I wrote a "Night Before Christmas” style poem, and together we revised the 13 stanzas. I hired Cosy Nest Art to draw the pictures while I formatted the book and designed the cover featuring the illustrator’s rendition of the little red box. I also formatted the poems into a short booklet to pair with the children’s book. By December 2023, we had a final version of the story to continue the tradition even after the box is gone.

“Camille took such care with our family's story and was just as excited as I was about making this keepsake. It was a really customized project, and she never tried to push us toward a template, so I know we ended up with something truly unique. Her writing skills really captured our story, and her attention to all the little details made for such a polished finished product.”
